divine love (i contain multitudes) is a seven-channel video installation which borrows its structure from Marguerite Porete’s seven stages of annihilation, as outlined in her heretical 14th century manuscript “The Mirror of Simple Souls.” The work is a science-fictive reinterpretation of the mirror; each channel serving as a portion of an entangled narrative brought together by a shared trance-like techno soundtrack, which samples Hildegaard von Bingen’s “Canticles of Ecstacy.” Sound design in collaboration with Gobby.
